Evo 9 turbo into a Evo 6
Not many around here are gonna know about the Evo6 since this is primarily US based, we only got the Evo8 and before that had DSMs (Eclipses, Talons, Lasers).
I would guess it will bolt on since the bolt pattern hasn't changed over the years and your engine is facing the right way.

Same deal as putting an evo9 turbo on an 8 of 7, you'll need an evo9 compressor outlet pipe and new oil and coolant lines, unless you want to tweak the existing ones.

I can help... I actually had an EVO VI motor and i put an EVO XI turbo on it with no problem. The EVO IV - IX are all the same motor only the IX came with MIVEC. You will be fine.. let me know if you have any other questions in regards to your turbo swap. happy boosting...

If ur looking for the prefect fit you will need E9 water lines but the E6 ones will work just need to flex them a lil.
You will also need a E9 J pipe because the standard E4-E8 J pipe will hit the starting motor.
Everything is a straight forward bolt on.
Cheers.

Can the E6 oil lines also be bent or will i need to get evo 9 oil lines? Is it pretty easy to bend my current E6 lines ? Without damaging ??
i just went on ebay and got an evo9 install kit from kinagawa or something cheap like 50 bucks shipped comes with everything. all you need from the kit is the oil lines and the jpipe to give a better clearance to the starter. i dont see a reason to pay over a 100 for things u can reuse. it does come with metal gasket in which i didnt use because i had new ones already. so to me. 50 bucks for an evo9 jpipe and oil lines, coolant lines and new banjos is a pretty good deal.
u "can" bend the lines but i dont know how risky it might be. you could actually kink or crack the lines and you would be screwed.
also i dont know where people got the idea that the evo8 wastegate is different from the evo9 wastegate. I reused my evo8 one because a member sent me a broken 9 wg. the arm lengths are the same the ONLY difference is the mounting bracket. the 9 is bent so it doesnt hit the jpipe. all you have to do with the evo8 wastegate is put 2 small spacers behind the bracket closest to the jpipe to give it clearance. i have BOTH and mounted each to verify and confirm my findings.
