ACD lights on in hot weather..any ideas?
If he's not the original owner he more than like has no warranty. I had the same issue with my Evo last summer and I had Westboro Mitsubishi replace my pump. Great dealership when it comes to service work. If you don't have warranty, I believe the cost of the parts and labor came out to around $2,250 or atleast that's what the receipt said when they gave me it lol.
If you don't rebuild, go used. You'll find pumps in the market here typically for somewhere around $400. That's the route I ended up taking as my pump started to make a nasty grinding noise not long after starting the car. I figured it was the safer way to go.
It's also not that tough of a job to tackle on your own. If you do, take off the front bumper right from the start. I tried to pull everything without doing that & it wasn't a fun time. I pulled the bumper & things were just oh so much simpler!

Same thing hapend to me couple years ago. Lights would only turno on in warm weather. Went to the dealer and they said bad pump but would not cover the new one becouse of the mods. So I bought one off a member for $150 and ever since then no problems. New ones are to expecive. Good luck
When you buy a used one, they are in the same shape as yours- they will fail. That's why getting them rebuilt/resealed is a better option IMO. Just my two cents.
