Yea and how do you know there much more strict, there are plenty of ways to get around it, Ive passed state ref inspections twice, and smogging it a couple of times. I think my advice is pretty sound to getting around it.

I just wanted to give the OP all of his options in one post..........

Or he could do all of them and run like 15# and 0* of timing

wow thanks for all your replies... to conclude so far I'll look into...
1. ECU
2. Cam change
3. exhausts

Is it a MUST to replace certain stock pipes with more robust ones once the hp is increased?

Whats the quality of HK gas? Whats the octane? I think that will determine what mods you need. If its comparable to the US then 300whp is easy.

ecu tune
lower intercooler pipe
maybe cams
maybe (most likely not) some porting of stock manifolds

If you have to keep stock exhaust then you'll still need to add more.

Also the only pipe worth replacing is the lower intercooler pipe. Nothing else will add power. Intercooler won't really make a power difference unless you go for 350+.

Not sure what octane fuel you have in HK...but on 91octane and dynapack dyno my RS put down 306whp.

This is with:
Cosworth panel filter (drop in replacement for stock)
3" downpipe
3" catback (very discreet with cat in place)
Simple, hidden MBC
Tune

Done!
Agreed!!

I put down 316hp/317ft lbs on 93 oct on a dynojet. Mods were intake, downpipe, test pipe, stock cat back. Megan manifold and o2 housing. Fuel pump and MBC. Im sure the OP can make 300 easily
