Post Temp gauge maxed out. engine cool

After I had finished my o2 housing install and reconnected the battery I noticed my temp gauge is maxed out.

I tried to search but I am not finding what I need. I looked at the fan fuses under the hood and they are good. Not sure what else to look at.

Is the rad fan running constantly? Did you disconnect anything during the installation that you're not sure you hooked back up?

I do not remember disconnecting anything on the radiator. I left the plugs in for the fan and just pulled it off to the side on top of the engine. The fan does not run at all. I do see an open slot to the left of the fan but cannot find anything dangling that is not plugged in. I assume it was not used.

That plug is unused. Check the gorunds from the batt to the chassis, and the grond from the chassis to the cam cover just behind the fan, and finally check to make sure the temperature sensor next to the thermostat has not been disconnected. When it has, or is getting a bad ground signal, it shoots up to max on the instrument panel.

Good luck!
