I just installed both Torque Solution underhood cable bushing and shifter base bushings. I reused the oem washers for the underhood bushing and it was hard to get the pins back in. The underhood bushings made noticeable difference (shifts are tighter going in 1st, 2nd, 5th, & reverse). I did not feel any difference after I installed the shifter base bushing.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but are shifter base bushings worth it. I'm thinking about buying a set, just don't want to wast money if there really don't help or change anything.

I noticed a small increase in shift quality with the base bushings, I would recommend them.

I didn't have good results with underhood bushings though and ended up switching back to stock.

I did the base bushings and a short throw shift kit at the same time (B&M kit). The bushings made the whole assembly feel more sturdy with less play and the short throw made shifting feel faster and more precise. Ive been loving it for the last 7 years since i did it. No problems what so ever. Never messed with the bushings on the tranny though.

underhood bushings, base bushings, front motor mount, ingalls engine damper and it shifts like a dream. looking at a 490 blox shift knob to even make it better. and i STILL have the oem 6 speed lol. going on 60k miles with the occasional 7k rpm shift. not sure if it has been covered but make sure to use lithium grease on the underhood bushings. check it often to make sure it doesnt bind.
