Do you own a JDM Rear bumper or USDM Rear Bumper?
The JDM rear bumper is definitely a nice visual mod and probably the best one for our cars besides the nose chop for the Evo 8. The issues that do arise are fairly signifigant ones though to get it installed.
- New Crash Beam or Modified OEM
- Modified License Plate Holder
- Modified License Plate Lights
- All bits and pieces for the correct install + tow hook
- Potentially Modified Exhaust to fit nicely
These on top of the price make me a bit paranoid to drive around with one as well. I was looking around locally and a new rear bumper for my 350z painted are readily available are only $250 lol.

I went with Driveline for my bumper and arranged it so one my local buddies modified the crash beam for me. I also bought an exhaust designed to fit the JDM rear...so no issue there.

I think, for my area especially, it's a nice mod to set the car apart from other EVOs in the area. There is only one, that I know of, that has a JDM rear and I never see him around town.
It's worth the money IMO for visual satisfaction.

They don't fit on the license plate bracket since it has to be modified. I see guys using zip ties to get them to fit on to the modified bracket or on to the aftermarket crash beams.
Yeah I looked into them and they only had the WW available and the reason they are cheaper is because they don't come with all the hardware pieces for installation. I believe only driveline sells them as a full package complete with the hardware and tow hook from all the vendors I've called.
I think lancershop has all the colors on their site, but I don't know if they are actually in stock or have to be back ordered. Anything coming out of Japan takes at least 2-3 months to get over here.

I had one of these Carbign Craft License plate backings with a Carbon fiber exhaust shield on a USDM bumper for the longest time, but everytime I saw a JDM rear I realized it looked so much better.

Patiently awaiting my JDM rear from Driveline right now. If you get the demonwerkz crash beam (which I got) it solved the problem of modifying the plate bracket and comes with plate light mounting spots. It's expensive but you pay for a much simpler install.
I own both bumpers as well, bought the car with the USDM rear and i am currently in the process of swapping it out for the JDM rear. Bought the JDM rear from Mitsubishi and white was all the offered. I had to get the bumper painted to match my car. LOL Of course there's a bunch of work involved, I will have to modify the crash beam and exhaust.
