Surprise. Apart from the greatly improved looks it significantly reduced the resonance from my 3" turboback (Tanabe Medallion Concept Blue - had to be shortened 1.5", hanger modified and re-angled). The car is a lot! quieter and more pleasant as DD as a result.

JDM goodness all the way

Do you have any pictures before & after modification?? I have the same exact exhaust on my IX and I want to do the JDM rear, but I fear how bad the exhaust looks with the new bumper in place.... which hanger was modded?

Added an extension on the hanger on the rear muffler to bring the muffler further towards the front of the car so it does not interfere w/ the shorter bumper. Will try to take a picture today.

Here's the pics.

Essentially re: the exhaust hanger I bolted some bar stock to the hanger plus a spot weld to keep in position - distance from bolt centerline to centerline = 1.5" to keep the hanger pick-up point in the same location after cutting 1.5" off the exhaust just before the muffler.

Tanabe must make a specific tail pipe for the JDM bumper for other markets as I have seen this exhaust used with a JDM bumper in other markets without modification. Anybody know a part # or reference?

What the amount of difference in inches the jdm bumper comes in towards the chassis/muffler compared to the usdm bumper? My muffler has a good amount of clearance to my usdm bumper and wonder if Ill need to modify my muffler when I install a jdm bumper. I dont think I will but I want to be sure. Anyone got any input on this?

I love the look of the Jdm bumper. I have been contemplating putting one on. How much is it to bar professionally installed?

How much clearance did you have on your usdm bumper with your exhaust?
