A/C compressor oil capacity and wiring

I'm moving back to Texas next week and will be leaving my Evo stored in my shop until I'm settled in and the weather cools down a bit due to no AC.

I'm still trying to diagnose the problem with my AC and purchased a low mileage compressor for a low price and will be installing it soon.

Just wondering if anyone knows the correct amount of oil to add to the compressor and also if the single wire that runs to the connector powers the compressor as I have no power going to that wire and have even jumped it to the battery with no luck in spinning the compressor.

You can get charging kits that have the proper amount needed for the weight of R134 in that kit. Not sure how many pounds an evo system takes.

The oil circulates with the refrigerant. It could be sitting in the condenser, evaporator, compressor or drier. The usual advice is to drain what oil you can out of the compressor, measure and add that amount and a little extra.

And, yeah, just one wire. If you jump from the battery and nothing happens - bad clutch.

The clutch is a wear item and can be re-shimmed to maybe get it working again. There's a thread or two around about doing this.

I know the Evo hold 18oz of R-134. I'll just throw that other compressor on, vacuum the system and start from there.

Thanks for the input.
