Okay so i have an 05 evo 8, it has a fully built brian crowler head with stage 2 272 cams, stock cam gears havent gotten it tuned yet.. the car ran fine the first week. i took it to the track it ran great Ran 13.3's then on the way home i went to get on it it started breaking up a little so i just babied it till i got home and check all my piping everything was good. Took it out and tried again, The breaking up got worst. So i replaced my plugs and wires, it got better but still breaks up. Replaced my fuel pump it got better now it only breaks up at higher rpms. Is there anything i can replace that may fix it, I dont want to go spend all that money on a tune and have it not fix the issue..

 

take it to a evo/tuning shop to get it properly done. dont take shorcuts. they know your evo better than you do. its their expertise.

 

you people kill me...spend all this money on your car then cheap out on the most basic, essential things. get it freaking tuned.

 

You just spent money on cams and a fully built head... Cant afford to get a tune? Im sure the shop will help you diagnose your problem...
and enough of me yelling lol try running some ngk 1 step colders think ther BPR8ES and try closing the gap a little. I don't get why u are going to the track and racing the car with no tune and some serious upgrades....

oh no im not saying i dont have the money for the tune... i just dont want to waste the 600 bucks for the tune and still have it break up. i just dont see what would cause it to go from running perfectly fine to breaking up. i didnt know if there was maybe something i was missing or not. and it was only on low boost at the track.

 

cam positioning sensor? Happened to me but i have a good tune.

 

Plugs!!Gap them to .21
