theres no need to time the car to install a crank sensor. i squeezed the crank sensor through the timing belt and frontcase so i never checked the dial on the frontcase & trigger plate at that time.

very dumb issue for sure! dont know if im dreaming, but i could have sworn i loosened the crank bolt when i was turning the engine when putting it into time for the cam install. with that bolt loose, and no crank key, that would explain the rotation on these parts. it didnt take much to break it loose this time, so im sure it was pretty loose (around 50ft/lbs)

it'll run 10's easy with traction. i hope we get it to cecil before time is up.

Good deal. Glad you found the problem and before something bad happened. Now I look forward to seeing a vid of it run 10's as a bit of a "happy ending" for this adventure.

it deff going to run 10's no question. with the trigger plate off i make one clean pass down the track.. well i let off about at 1000 ft mark. i went 11.2 @ 112mph so figure my car is going 132 in the 1/4 with this setup that is well into the 10's.. im thinking a easy 10.7-10.8 with me driving on my ****ty all seasons

The head, timing, intake manifold are all back on. Should be running again tonight or tomorrow. hopefully that tigger plate was the problem.

UPDATE! Tom had a chance to fire up the car last night. It was indeed the trigger plate. Car started right up when it got fuel back in the system.

Moral of the story is when your installing a 4G64 block make sure you have a crank key just like your stock block because other wise the trigger plate will shift out of place and you will get the symptoms i was having.

i can take some videos as im dialing it in a little more later today. (we added a map rev 3 intake mani & 65mm tb on there now) everything is 100% fixed and i cleaned up his engine bay a bit as well. (polished some pieces, and added some fancy braided wire loom, cleaned coolant/brake tanks, vacuumed it out, etc. im a clean freak )
