and PS Tom. That ruler is showing more then a 1/2 inch.. that is pretty much 3/4 of a inch! lol
I believe the belt timing was still correct, so you wouldn't have to worry about pistons hitting valves. If it was just the trigger plate, your ignition timing would have been the issue. That could have caused catastrophic engine failure at WOT. Either way, it seems that you got lucky!

we ordered a new crank key (woodruff key), new trigger plate, and a fluidampr crank pulley + new cometic hg etc. ill post a video once i fire the car back up & perform leakdown test to confirm everything is back to normal.

hopefully this thread will help someone else diagnose this issue if it ever happens to anyone in the future.

Lets hope this is for sure the problem. We might be shooting the gun, but this is def. a issues regardless if it was the problem or not.

So the engine timing was off throughout the whole time? Or did it jump timing when going down the track? I thought a compression test was done after the issue started? That would show low compression! I feel for the Guy who has replaced so many things if this was the issue since day 1! I hope this fixes the issues and notes are taken to prevent same issues.

So I reread the diagnosis, and you mentioned the Timing belt was correct but the CAS plate was off. Wasn't this noticed when changing the sensor?

It was not noticed. Something you really would no be looking for when changing a crank angle sensor. Vision is limited to in there. When it says its in timed why look for something proving it isnt in timed.

Dude. I really hope to see you get your car back soon. If its fixed you should be able to put better #'s down. due to the Coil Packs and should have a better time at the track. 10s maybe.
