I think the only people here that are complaining are Stupid Street and Honduh Tuner subscribers anyway...
Hi,

I disagree based upon the number of head turns a day I get driving my EVO around here; there is a lot of interest in the Evolution. I would like to see an east coast comparo with real pump gas. (94 octane ) so the quickest in the country could compete. In any case, didn't SCC give the EVO their Car of The Year Award?

KK - I was just stating an opinion not trying to flame etc, my apologies. PS - I already emailed SCC several times. TY

As a current S4 owner I am interested to see what numbers the EVO's puts down. There were some really well put together S4's that had a problem with the heat and Murphy. Evo's may be a small % but everybody will care if they get thier *** handed to them by a Evo.

I hope all the Evo's blow up and do horribly. That way I can surprise more people at the track.

What makes you so mad at the Evo, son?

...And *you*, of course... just read your own comments.

Easy, easy. Buy one, make minor (just minor) changes, and you will never look back...

i kind of agree with blak94GSX because I think we are lucky to get a magazine like SCC to do a great feature article on the Evo tuners. I don't see why so many people hate SCC on here because I think it is by FAR the best import mag available. It's too bad that every tuner couldn't make it, but I am still really looking forward to reading the article!

As far as SCC's BS story about not wanting cars that have been in other mags, I'm quite sure if they were offered an EVO VIII a year and a hlaf ago to test that had been in other publications they wouldnt have turned it down would they. BS SHIV's boys at SCC have done everything in there power to make sure he looks good. Hope it works out for them!
Over exposed - did anyone see the cover on the Sparco Evo this month ? I love that car - but I think that blows the whole "over exposed argument out the window"

KK is 100% correct and I respect his opinion

I am just very upset as I honestly belive my car would have driven the 2,500 miles and won the event in every catagory - a d this even though it is a classical sports car in the most basic sense - its a car you can truly drive EVERY day and then drive to the track and be competative - in fact I drive it every day myself

Its just too bad that the reality of what i was trying to do could not sink in past the political BS - I think it would have made a great story to drive through the rockies in the snow and lay down 600 whp on the dyno all in the same day

I am going to stage my own exhibitions in the next few weeks to show the world what I am capable of and that waht i am saying is true.

The guy who posted about is correct that I am amazingly reserved in my comments in response to the issues with a certain teams car having blown diffs recently and now engine troubles. It was hard to take all that groups bashing on me when I had some simple valve guide issues and head gasket problems myself back a few months ago. I guess it comes down to realizing that big whp evos are going to blow up and its no real embarasment to blow up IMHO if you are seraching for big power. I thought they were silly to make fun of me and imply that my tuning was bad and I certainly an NOT going to turn around and do the same thing to them. Anyone who is trying to go very fast will have the same problems - its the laws of physics. You want to go low 11's you will be having some issues from time to time. My good friend Dan's Pruven evo snapped a 600 whp rated rod in half - no tuner error - just mega whp on a engine designed for 270 hp.

As the famous Jan Shim once told me "welcome to motorsports."

We are all people with passion for evos and fast driving - I think we should all focus on what we have in common and not focus on what we disagree on.

I just have to give a big for the tuners who made it. I can't wait to see the results. Rumor has it that the honda tuner did really well.

Some of you are being extremely unreasonable.....SCC did their best to include everyone. Some tuners in particular are new and the Evo is their first product line. How is SCC supposed to know that? it's up to the tuner to contact them and at least introduce himself to SCC. In my opinion it's kind of childish to come on here and whine about how they didn't call back. You should've been more aggressive and kept bugging them, specially since you were so sure that you'd beat all the other cars there.

If I, for example, was so sure that I'd beat everyone at the shoot out, I would've made every effort possible to make it out there. I mean it was a sure thing right? I'm sure everyone else who blew their motor or didn't make it also thought the same thing as you.

No matter which way SCC organized the shoot out, there would always be critics

He isn't mad at the Evo. Just stating facts. Don't get defensive just because reality doesn't favor your Evocentric view of the universe.

Uhhh, if he just made minor changes, his Evo would be a good bit slower than the Eclipse he currently owns. You might have seen it before, it was in this years USCC.

All I know is Buschur and Pruven were both invited. So was RRE, Toda, Vishun, and lots of others.

So is not like SCC didn't invit Buschur and Pruven to this shoot out....

Hi guys,

We just got back from the event. Our entry performed flawlessly, as did many of the other participants. All in all, it was a fun event and should make for a great story in the magazine. It was great spending a couple of days at the track, drag strip, etc,. with the other tuners. SCC really did a remarkable job of making this whole event come together and run the way it did.

While I'd like to see the results to be on-line as much as anyone, one thing we all forget sometimes is that the testing info belongs to SCC. They financed the event. They spent the considerable time needed to organize it. They took all the responsibility in case something goes wrong.

In the internet age, many of us come to expect information to be free. We expect to be entitled to it, regardless of the situation. We believe that it is our right to have this information.

This is not the case.

Magazine's put up their $$ and time to gather information, interpret it professionally, present it in an entertaining and informative way and sell it to the public.

Not to present the raw info on the internet, free of charge, sit back and allow people to interpret it any which way they desire, flame away and b$tch about how the magazine sucks and how they would have done it differently.

Just my 2c,
shiv

Amen. Al, call me when you have more details on this.
