It took 5 years and over $100,000 to complete. I do have a written appraisal completed in Dec 2012 showing an appraised value of $75,500

^ 100K? Really..?
And who is this appraiser? I'd like to have him help set a price for me to sell my cars.

If you bought a like new evo with low miles and built it to the point he did or to even the point i have. Youll pay out quite a bit more then his asking price. I dont think his car is worth 75... But maybe 50. This is why people part out or return to stock prior to selling.
Nobody is going to pay $75k for a car like that. Yeah, it has low miles and is built, but it's not worth that much. The reason why people part out their cars before selling it is because you get more money selling individual parts, instead of trying to "sell" the car (with all those parts) to a potential buyer. No offense to you, but cars are horrible investments. I wouldn't put anywhere near $100k into my car, no matter what it was. You lose half the value driving it off the lot, then every 1,000 miles thereafter.

He likely won't get $75k for that car here in the US, but remember all it takes is one buyer. I do think if he could get it advertised outside the US to say Dubai, he could have a chance. Didn't Vivid sell one or more of their cars to Dubai? How about that Supra that sold for $125k? http://www.extremeskins.com/showthre...ra-For-125-000

There's no way this guy put 100k into this car unless he simply overpaid for absolutely everything. I just don't see anything special about it.

it really depends on the buyer. I guess the southcoast last new evo ix mr's well sold overseas for $50k because I searched their VIN and it has never been registered at all. just remember that the TA1 AMS time attack vehicle was sold for $50k and it was a salvaged, crashed vehicle. we are talking about immaculate, low miles vehicle here though.

I recently locally saw a 05 ssl with 9k miles with a full t3 turbo kit and supporting mods for 22k and it took a while to sell. There is no way this guy would sell his car considering who is in the market for evos.

It's so true. That's why I'm in the Evo community for the long haul. Considering the money invested is like 2x the cost of the car.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Maybe he needs $50,000 to go back to school...

lmao this is why I don't mod my car anymore....it really is a waste of money. you will never get that money back which most of us already know but we are addicted to the thrill of turbo boost. now I just buy gold and silver, at least I know the 28k I have invested in that still holds it's value.

That's exactly why every car I've ever had I parted out instead of selling whole. It takes more time, but generally the income is higher.

If the price is too high. Oh well, they will realize it when they receive low offers.
