UTEC for the Evo

Does anyone know anything about the UTEC? It doesn't seem like it's out yet. I was wondering if anyone's planning on getting it because I'm also considering it. I've seen a few vendors on this forum sell/preorder them.

Its a cool product, but no official word on it yet.. I've gotten a few replies from them on an ETA, but their obviously a bit behind.

Go to the TurboXS website, check out the features the WRX version has (the Evo version will have most if not all of those features, and some stuff that the WRX version just can't do)

Then make your decision on whether to wait it out or not.

Vishnu's XEDE Is a great product, and you won't be unhappy if you choose it. But if your on the fence, wait it out another few weeks and see, 'round here its the winter, not alot of stuff going on with my projects so I can wait.. Though ultimately what I end up doing may not use either.

I'm considering the UTEC also, but if I can get an AEM for a good price I might just go with the stand-alone.

btw: you can use UTEC with a MAP sensor so it's just like a standalone for about $1K not too bad

Cool. Good to know i'm not the only one. I was just checking out worldoneperformance, they're taking lists of people that want the UTEC, more importantly there is a FAQ about it on their site. It's probably on turboXS site also, haven't checked.

Anyway, if it's not going to come out for a few months I may go for a turbo-back or cat-back first while i wait

Definitely wait and see what this thing's about. If you have the itch entertain yourself with an exhaust, I agree. The UTEC lets you choose from like 5 maps on the WRX, it's got launch control and the whole nine. Sure sounds like the way to go. That or the Xede, that thing rocks too

Does the UTEC come from the same folks who brought out the infamous UNICHIP p.o.s.?
If so...... I'd put my money on anything else but....

I bought mine from TXS, but as far as I know, they are all the same (or were all the same )......

Bottom line is UNICHIP=pos..... No cure, no support, no nothing, bye bye $$$..... Of course, I sold the WRX so that's in the past, now lets see how many EVO products are pos's too Well, my wallet got out of my pocket so it begins again
