E6 to E4 engine swap/importing question

Sorry guys I meant to type the title as E4 to E6 as I am looking for an E6 engine.

Hey guys after much research I decided I am just going to get a new engine and build on that to get my power down due to the Crank-walk issues that seem to happen if you push the E4 to much.

My question is where JDM cars need to 15 years old to import into Canada & E5's just started really showing up, I am not entirely positive that I am allowed to import just the engine of en E6 and was hoping someone here could possibly help me out i Know all the engine are different variations of the 4G63 platform and it would not be illegal for me to build my own short-block so i figure there would be no problem, not to mention i have heard of a few Evo's in Canada with older engines in them.. I have had no luck with this question on the lancer register, google only show the importation of cars not parts and all the people on my local forums have just suggested calling import company's here in Canada and asking them but I would rather try and find this information on the forums.

Thanks in advance for the help.

4/5/6 engines look identical , the centre main bearing is the only significant change in the block.

4 eng numbers start with T (eg: TR-5435) , evo 5 with X eg: (XM-5435) , evo 6 with Y (eg: YT-5435) or A for 6 makinen (eg: AB-5435)

why not just buy an e6 block ans build your e4 head? save some money and be efficient! that's what I'm doing. except I'm more looking into an e8 block so I can save on shipping. (local buy instead of from UK or jap.)

To be honest, if you were starting from scratch, the Evo VIII engine is the best one, although the Evo VI Turbo is the one to have.

The harnesses between the engines vary. The body to engine connection specifically. I do not suggest trying to use the e6 harness. Use the harness that is already in the car, to include the engine harness. The e4 harness with work with the e6 engine.

If you try to use e6 engine harness with e4 body harness you need to splice the body to engine and I suggest using the e6 fuse box. Other connection difference is the o2 lamba sensor. The e6 uses heat sensor(4wires) e4 uses non heated(2wire).

From what I was told on the LR was that I was fine with getting a "full" (Turbo, manifolds etc.) E6/E8 engine dropping it in for a straight swap & as long as I had and E6 ECU I was able to plug straight into the harness I already have.

I was told my E4 harness will work wit the E8 engine as well so no need to change that.

So far what i have choose these from what people have offered me.

E6 Tommi Makinen turbo
E6 Ralliart ECU (Whitebox)

Still haven't receive a reply on the 2.3L forged but i have had about 30 million other people message me about engines.

correct with wiring , ra ecu is a waste of money you can download the rom and flash it to the std 6 ecu or theres a ceddy mod 6 rom either way you will need to tune it
