Anyone have any idea where to get a crate motor or a new assembled block?

Dealer. They are expensive though so finding a used engine with similar miles is probably the most cost effective.

check out jacks transmissions, they have an OEM rebuild starting at 2500. obviously it depends on what parts of yours are salvable but its a cheaper option.

I think you guys scared the guy with "Crank Walk"

do a compression test. see if it even needs a rebuild.

check for CELs/stored CELs

could just need a new clutch. clutch feel funny?

I love my wife's STi for a daily driver but for a car I want to get performance out of I prefer my Evo over it. My issues where all shop created.

Having a good shop to do the work (or yourself if you are capable) def. helps.

Where's CBRD? If you are within 4 hours of them and you want it done right, go there. I have not seen ONE person have an issue with them. There are few shops that can have that track record.

Why not just go to Buschur since you are like under an hour from them.

Also interested in this. (If the crankwalk hypothesis is correct.)

I havent had time to get it to a shop yet to have it checked. Im hoping to this weekend. Im not taking it to buscher because its 1.5hrs away and im not lookin for a full build. Stock rebuild is more than fine for me. I have 2 kids and such and im not in the need for a 500+hp daily driver. I called mitsu and they will diagnose it for $99 and they are 2 miles up the road. Ill start there and see what my best route will be! I appreciate all the help! I anyone wants to purchase a cheap evo, lmk! Lol seriously

Really hoping its just the clutch! But it acts nothing like when the clutch went bad in my sti! Or dsms! The pedal pushes down fine and releases fine! I also can run through gears! I will check to see how the pedal and stuff actually feels in a little bit! Again, when it did run and i pushed the clutch, the access belt would scream when i barely touched the pedal! Atleast it sounded exactly like the access belt (hard to see by yourself)! The motor would almost act as if it were being restricted when the clutch was being pushed down and would then die before pedal was even at 20% to the floor! I know im beating a dead horse (or evo) until i actually have it checked, but still sound lie crankwalk? Or could i have broken lucky and it possibly could be the clutch? Thanks guys for all the help! Def better support than sti forums 😎
