VA **** emissions dude

Just tried to get my tb ix 06 inspected. The guy pops the trunk and then puts it on the lift and is all looking right around the downpipe area with a f/n flashlight. He fails me. The paper says n/a for all tests and fail for catalyst. My computer reports they are good via force obd patch. Can that puke manually enter fail? Who does a fair inspection in VA?

If you live in northern I can tell you where to go.

LMAO sorry for the laugh at your expense. Your guy really likes his job. Yes, he can manually fail you if the state laws state that a catalytic device must be fitted and not tampered with. You will either have to put on a cat (you might be able to fool him with a HFC), or you could try to fool him by welding heat shields on the downpipe to look like a catalytic converter is installed..good luck.

First off, I just want to point out the irony of admitting to a force patch, getting pissed when they fail you, and then asking for someone who does a "Fair" inspection.

That being said, I'm assuming you're in Northern VA, which means you should go to Moore Automotive. Not only are they the best Evo shop in Northern VA, but they also helped me out when the previous owner of my car deleted all of the emission portions of the ECU to pass in MA.
