thinking my EBC was the radio, she blew my engine!
first off, if he/she does tamper with it, most likely they are gonna say somthing while "trying to turn the volume up" and if you know they turned yur boost up then just dont floor it and you will be fine, its not gonna blow just turning it up, you have to apply the peddle big time to build enough boost to blow the motor, thats how it is for my evo at least... i can set my boost control to 20lbs and I wont hit that unless its peddle to the floor 3rd gear or so.

has this ever happened to anyone? is there a way to lock an ebc so it cannot be tampered with? I can totally see someone tweaking your boost setting without you knowing, which could lead to ...BOOM.
just curious if anyone has experienced this..

If you're running 91 octane gasoline, I imagine there might be a range of boost, still below fuel cut, where you'll have some knock problems -- but again, the stock ECU should detect the knock and either pull timing or enrich the mixture.

I think gtr has the right answer. As long as the stock ECU is present and you haven't messed with the MAF sensor or the MAF signal, you'll hit fuel cut long before you blow up the engine.

The person who mentioned the "Warning" settings is correct, however. If the duty cycle on my Evo was turned up to something that would produce, say, 25 PSI, it'd hit the warning at 23 PSI and reduce the duty cycle to 10% (Which equates to about 12 PSI of boost).

Not necessarily. If you're using an MAF device for fuel control or have modifications to your fuel system, you're essentially raising the factory fuel cut.
