Headlight taken apart - Need Help

The previous owner of my car did the headlight mod, however he did not do a good job sealing it back up. I used a heat gun and got the headlight apart, but I am trying to figure out the best way to get rid of the sealant mess so everything lines back up when I put it back together.

Is there a solution that can help in the removal and what type and brand sealant should I use to seal it back up? Also the reflector in the second pic looks like it was glued to the housing with gorilla glue. Is there a better adhesive I can use so that it won't turn yellow like in the pic?

use your heat gun and acetone to remove sealant from lens. do not use on the headlights if they are painted

I used oven before disassembly and reassembly. This allowed it to go back together easier without having to remove all the sealant. I just used regular silicone sealant, but someone mentioned butyl rope working better. I didn't get a chance to try it, but might in the future.

If he hadnt gotten the silicone everywhere you can install the lens without using additional silicone like i did. I bought a new tube and its still sitting in the package. I would try heating it back up and using rubbing alcohol.
