Can you fit an evo hood inside the evo?

I'm looking to pick up a new hood today from a guy off Craigslist. I'll probably swap out the hoods there, but I have no idea what to do with the old hood. Any idea if it'll fit inside the evo somehow? Also, about how much is the stock hood worth?

It was really really tight when we had my buddies, we ended up just getting a truck and hauling it, although it was still in the box...

How do you suggest I position it to fit? I may be able to get my friend to help me with his truck, but I'd like to avoid having to get help. Is it possible to fit it?

I'm not planning on selling it. I'm just curious as to how much it's worth. It seems like the hood might fit, but the deal I found is really one of a kind so I pretty much have to go get it today if I want any chance at getting my hands on it, and I'm not sure if I can get a truck that soon.

If it will fit, you will probably have to have the hood standing up and slide it through the rear passenger doors. with the front nose of the hood facing up, since you will have to put the back corners around either side of the exhaust tunnel. If you can get it to fit, it's gonna be a squeeze, I'd measure your hood first before taking my word on it.

I just took my hood off and left it at home while I went to pick up the new one. I brought along my tools and hardware and bolted it on when I got there.

Alright I'll measure it out. That's a good idea hahaha

This sounds like a pretty good idea. But it is a 45 minute drive on solely freeway. Is it safe to run hood less at freeway speeds for that long?

I drove for about an hour without my hood on. No issues, but I also made sure to secure any loose items, like the hinges and washer hoses.

You should be ok to run with no hood.

Heres what you do. Either get a truck to use (easiest/safest) or take your hood off and see if you can find a way to put it in your car. If you can get it to fit great, put the hood back on and go get your new one and put the old one in the car and drive home. If it does not fit leave it off and go get your new hood. Be sure to tie everything down as mentioned earlier.

I'd either bring blanket and tie it to the roof or drive there with my hood off
