Double Pumper troubleshooting

After installing a DP setup, what would cause fuel to leak outside underneath the car ONLY when topping off the tank with fuel?

Are there any stock lines that need to be removed? I have one stock hard line under the car that is unused, so nothing is attached to it. Do I just cap it off? Remove it?

Let me know what other info you need to help.

Thanks for any help.

only leaks when tank is full? are you sure the hanger is mounted correctly with the rubber gasket still in place?

It was when I installed it. Haven't had a chance to take a look yet but just trying to get some ideas on where to start. Car also threw a CEL related to the fuel system. I will post up the code to see if they're related, which most likely will be the case.

My double pumper leaked when I got it as well. Mine ended up being one of the bulkhead fittings(large silver fittings on top of housing where black lines connect) wasnt seated flat against the plastic. I had to pull the bulkhead fitting out and grind down on the plastic a bit. Then it sealed perfectly fine.

This was on a Buschur double pumper and only leaked when I filled the tank.

I also bought a BR double pumper. It leaked bad under the silver custom primary pump fitting. I sent it back to be fixed. Around 2.5 weeks later I get it back and it still ever so slightly leaks. This time around top of whasher instead of under. Before it was bad leak now it only gets a drop or two when feeling with finger. I need to let buschur know about this still but I've been driving on it cause its REALLY minor now vs before. I'm doing testing to see if it will go away as crazy as that might sound.

I sent mine in to Buschur as well, unfortunately it came back leaking still too. I had to pull that silver fitting out and grind down some of the plastic housing on the bottom side to make the washer sit flat and flush. Never leaked again.

Buschur did make it right in the end for me.

Wow this is rather amusing that the BR double pumpers come back leaking. BUT ITS PROVEN TO RUN 8s WHILE ON FIRE!

may seem like a dumb question but did you happen to install the black rubber ring that goes on the underside of the pump housing to the tank?

I have the same problem while filling it anywhere over 1/2 a tank. I suspect it's the fitting on the top of the hanger housing but haven't had the time to investigate.

Thanks guys. It was a quick and simple fix. The bulkhead wasnt tight on the top of the assembly. I could see fuel drops around it. However, there was still probably a couple turns left on it. Just wasnt sure how tight I should go but I'm going to keep my eye on it now.

Looks like the plastic was already shaved down under the other two silver fittings.

And just for redundancy, the black gasket is in place and tightened down.

Thanks again!
