Can someone explain to me the actual business plan of this importing firm?

EVO8 will be here in 2-4 months. Who the he*l is gonna pay $40K for a grey market car, w/ ZERO factory warranty, after the USDM cars arrive for $10K less?

Why do you say that Celm? Similar hp, lighter weight for the VIII. Ayc/acd won't be a big factor...and it will be NO factor in straight line performance. The VIII also will have an improved clutch and better aerodynamics as well as better airflow to the intercooler.
I really like the VII but I don't think the VIII will give up much if anything when it comes to performance. Just imagine what an Evo VIII with 10k in mods would do to a grey market VII ! (30k at most for the US VIII + 10k in mods = price of grey market VII).
I'll take the US VIII and dump 10k in mods into it for the same price, thank you

Easy... you have to use the linear and angular formulas to find the exact speed which equates to amount of what you said

Pre Delivery Inspection

I just came across this thread and have read the whole thing. Wow lots of anger!

One quick question. When you test-drove your cars, did you notice that the front end was exceptionally stiff? The stock suspension is quite abrupt but it should not bounce you around.

From the pix it looks like the cars had not been through PDI. I am guessing that the rubber blocks inserted into the springs for shipment had not been removed. The front end looks higher than it should be. Make sure that they are removed before you drive them next. The blocks seriously mess with the handling.

You will love your cars, so full of potential.

Braf,

you are correct. the cars have not been through PDI. I still have the blocks into the springs. PDI will be performed once the cars are legal, that's an item the importer knows about.

I know I will love my car, I just can't wait to drive it and mod it

You can have a lot of fun modifying your car. I kept my car stock for its first year. I had no experience with anything similar and the factory setup was more than enough for me. I made small changes one at a time. It’s hard to appreciate the individual effects otherwise.

Enjoy!

On the fujitsubo

it is Fujitsubo. The catback that you are talking about is te RM-01A. I was the one who was researching exausts an found this. Fujitsubo is the biggest aftermarket exhuast maker in Japan they concentrate on the JDM market and do not sell overseas. You can listen to te exhaust at ww.fujitsubo.co.jp under products.

The reason I selected it was its all stainless. it will pass the california noise test and is light. At higher rev It gets loud and sounds good. It is also very well made.

If noise is not an issue the blitz is good. The blitz is very loud 116 dba. Remembr every 3 deciels is twice as load. The Blitz will be 6-7 times as load as the Fujitsubo.

My exhuast system is Mines turbo elbow -> Fujitsubo downpipe -> race cat -> Fujitsubo cat back RM-01A.

I want a 3 in staight through system have not figured out the race cat yet. A 3in straight through system will require modification of the fujitsubo downpipe and catback. Since both are made to mate up to the stock cat, like most (all?) of the japanese exhausts.

Hope this helps.

What is the dia. of the stock cat. there are either 2 possibilies: one being 2.5 or the other being usdm spec cat for epa reasons of 2.0.... I'm wondering i could just go w/ any type of cat that has the same I.D. as the rest of the exhuast and so on. I'm really considering to get this exhuast setup, but only if its all one dead even I.D. size. Also I'm wodnering what made you get the Mines turbo elbow... and not the complete fujitsubo setup. I'm quoting Adam on this, "You can see upwards of 340 HP...." is this believable, because I know I'd buy the setup right then and there.

As far as I can tell the cat is 65mm dia. I know of no exhaust for the Evo 7 that is 3in straight through. All of them would need to be modified to be 3in through the cat. Cats need to be sized if you want to pass emissions. They are rated by horsepower usually. As far as I know Fujitsubo does not make a turbo elbow. I am buying the complete Fujitsubo set-up but I would not worry about mixing and matching exhaust components as they all seem to route through the stock cat.

I am looking for around 340 – 350 with my setup. But it includes a lot more than the exhaust alone.

If you do not like the sound of the Fujitsubo then there are a never ending supply of loud booming exhausts available. See the Blitz for a loud well made exhaust. I think it sounds pretty WRC to me.
