Hood latch and cable broken

So for the longest time it has been a pain in the *** to close my hood and now it just wont close at all. I was just going to order the latch, but I think I need a new cable now also. See picture. The little white plastic peice that holds the cable together on both sides of the latch from what it seems broke when I was messing with it. Can anyone confirm?

Does anyone know the part numbers for the latch and cable?

Has anyone ever replaced both? Any tips?

Thanks

The latch is pretty stout. Maybe all it needs is lubrication.

I just went ahead and bought a new one along with the cable since they weren't that expensive.

Anyone have any tips for replacement?

I vaguely remember that it feeds into the grommet behind the fender where the harness also goes through. Fishing it through there was a little tricky, and that was pulling it out. Putting it through there to route back in the cabin might not be fun.
