Question Evo viii up down temperature problem

Hi
I have a 2003 Evo VIII MR. I just got it it has 39k on the clock.
I getting some strange temperature reading when im at high RPM and withing 4 seconds after easing upoff the rev it goes back to normal which is about 1/16 below half. ANY IDEAS AS TO WHATS CAUSING THIS UP AND DOWN TEM PROBLEM?
Its frustrating not being able to drive my car as i should

Check you grounds. Sometimes when the fan comes on, the temp sensor for the dash gauge loses the ground a little. The culprit is usually the ground on the side of the head near the headlight on your right when you are looking at the car. Try and run a direct ground to here from your battery and see if that helps.

If you temp really is rising, could be a num berr of more serious issues, but try that first.

Log it and check if you see the temperature rise there.

If its just the dash gauge it could be the temp sensor on the t-housing.

I am going to guess there is something wrong with the connection on the temp sensor.
