My exhaust is a little droney for my liking.

It's a 2.5" exhaust with 2 resonators and a megan muffler.

My question is what is more likely to be the cause of the drone. The resonators or the muffler?

I was thinking about removing a resonator to see how that goes, what do you think?

 

the resonator help keeps the drone down. removing it will make your drone louder.

 

I would say the muffler

 

2.5 inches? isnt the stock evo exhaust 2.75. unless it is different for the evo 6. but i would open it up to a full 3 inch with resonators in place to keep noise in check.

 

Stock 6 is 2.25"

Thanks dudes, I'll see if I can find a muffler with a 3" inlet and see if I can get up to 3"

 

i have full 3" dp and cbe with hfc and one 18" perforated resonator, pretty quiet without performance sacrifice.

 

I have a 3" buschur turbo back exhaust with a buschur tip and there is hardly any drone at all. (no cat as well)
