2006 Lancer Evolution Recall?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone else has gotten a phone call about a recall being issue by Mitsu for 2006 Evos? Just got one today, missed it, will call the guy tomorrow. Just wondering what it could be about?

Thanks

Rob

Might have been a dealer. It is not uncommon to phone in recalls, especially expensive ones like cat replacements that bring in easy money to the dealer. Dealers have active lists of locally registered cars with open recalls.

Dealers/Manufactures do call customer to inform them of open recalls.!

I personally work for American Honda, I know that the main office in Torrance calls customers, the dealership call also track cars down by VIN# and call customer.

Yes our Evo's do have a emissions software update and possible catalytic convertor replacement.

I got a notice in the mail from Mitsu about 3 weeks ago in regards to a recall or update. It said they were opting to update the ecu to adjust timing/afr or something like that in order to reduce exhaust temps that damage catalytic converters over time.

No point in doing the recall if you don't have the stock cat or are tuned. I did it for the lols. Also I believe some places give you $50 gas voucher?

I got the mailer too... my car is 100% stock, so I might take it in-- I am actually picking up some parts there later this week, so I might ask my parts guy what he knows about the recall.

You seem to have gotten a delayed follow-up, but this was back in May - I got mine then. Here's the thread talking about it:

Hope that helps

As far as recal I'm not sure but I got a letter in the mail for my Evo IX to bring it in so they can update the ecu so the car will run better and they also added I'm not sure how many miles to the CAT warranty. But that's about it
