I split them to media blast and to remove the seals.I then put them back together and coated them complete so there would be no marks when i put them back together. The red really pops in the sun light on my RR evo. I did them last winter and they still have no rock chips or anything after being on for that long.

For a more realistic black chrome look, you need a 2 stage black chrome like I described in the post above.
That is Hilarious you mentioned that, because that was the first black chrome I used, and liked the color. I stopped using it because I didn't like eastwood's "chrome"s

The problem I have had with eastwood's powders is that they must somehow, some way be exposed to moisture, as when they arrive, they sometimes have big chunks in them. I sift all the eastwood powders when I get them.

Thanks!

I had that same issue with Harbor Freights matte black, first couple pounds were great, then they started getting clumpy so I stopped getting it.

If you ever find yourself needing to use a powder that has gone clumpy, a blender smoothes it out pretty quickly.

He coats the plastic in the normal way. Then bakes it a bit of a lower temp. More timing than anything if you leave it to long i will warp...
