I'm glad I actually like the look of the VIII. It is sleek and clean looking. Probably slightly less drag (better aerodynamics) also. I am with Hooby, I can think of better things than replacing the front end to spend a few grand on.

 

Just like the Evo VII which everyone hated at first sight - the looks of the Evo VIII is going to grow on most of you. How many cars have hit the streets where people initially hated the looks and later on changed their mind about it 100%?

All you guys making the are totally overreacting. You haven't even seen the whole car yet. All you are basing your opinion on is a half of a front-quarter shot of the car and a far away side shot which is blurry.

i still don't like the evo vii compare to previous generations, and i still don't like the new wrx compare to old, and i still don't like new civic compare to older ones, and i still don't like 350z compare to 300zx and i still don't like new gto compare to the old style, and i still don't like f50 compare to f40, i still don't like rx8 compare to rx7, i still don't like new integra compare to the old jdm retangular integras.................styling vise

When I get my Evo 7 I will swap with someone for their Evo 8 grill. That way I will look like I have a slower less performing car ( )

The Evo 8 looks good but if MITSUBISHI IF YOUR READING THIS (I know you are...) STOP THE PONTIAC LOOK!!!

 

It looks ok. But i'd wish they made it more square looking. I mean the fenders and etc have sharp corner and the bumper does look out of place a litte but a lot better than I expected. If i were working for the design team i'd let the people vote for the type of look. We are the one's buying.

Hey . Most of us would agree that we're just being picky and rather have the car that has "brembos, recarios, acd, ayc, intercooler, engine (276+hp), and rear wiper are most important" Ok, maybe the wipers are not that important.

One more thing mitsubishi, Focus Rs is coming and following is the 300hp cosworth and WRX STI. You don't want to loose sale so set the bars high. 300+hp with extras . DO it right this time and kill off the competition. If i get the power i'll make a statement at the track to make F-bodies and Mustangs whine and cry! The real deal fast and furious.

I agree with LanEvo that cars are getting way ugly as of late and we only accept them because its different. I want the lines and hard edges that make the evo look tough back and I LOVE the dinner plate size fog lamps, please bring them back.
It looks like a cross between the new PONTIAC vibe and an Acura RSX if you ask me... ugly

 

The big foglights don't look good imo. I really don't like the look of the Evo VI either. It looks tacked together. I'll take a clean, smooth lined car like the VIII shown or even the VII and be happy with it.

I know this has been said many times but i'm not likin' that pontiac lookin' frond end, i'd rather take the "thong" lookin' grill on the '02 Lancer . But the front end doesn't really matter if i can beat the guy next to me!
