Pics of the EVO 8 in Las Vegas
I'm going for the blue, too. I put a deposit down and reserved blue as my first choice color. If it's not a bright blue like the current Evo VII or WRX, silver is my second choice. The car looks sharp. I think the front end is very aggressive looking. To meet crash test standards, it is probably a chunky bumper, so making it curvy was the best they could do to make it look good.
But who buys this car for looks anyway? My sole purpose of buying this car is PERFORMANCE, so who cares what you look like, you'll be fast and people that paid more for better looking cars will get SMOKED.
So just think of the joy you'll have of blowing away those nicer more expensive cars.

first off hooby I too have a deposit and have the right to say that compard to the evo vii or 6 it looks very un- EVO and very PONTIAC. I post my true opinions in hope of change for the final production (if .
is even reading these posts). Regardless of what the final car does look like however, as long as 99.9% of the performance is ther ill probly just learn to fall in love with the car like i love the new WRX.
I was just In a car crash friday night in my friends WRX straight into a tree and if the fugly front end is going to keep my as safe as his WRX did then I will learn to love it for the performance and saftey standards that
had to meet to bring it over like ChicagoMike said.

Hooby,
No one has this car yet, so if I've offended someone's $500 deposit, I'm sorry.
I'm also not going to "self edit" to protect someones feelings when I think the car looks awful/chintzy with that buldge in the front.
Besides, I still plan on getting that damn car, regardless of what Mitsubishi does to it. It can always be remedied later. I love the EVO like everyone else, but you bet your rear that I'm going to call a spade a spade.

I guess that is the jdm version. And the spy photo is probably us spec. I like the box look but we have hood vents
. And out hood better be just as light!

Pics look the same
Compare the pics boosted posted and the pic on the Japanese mag.
The skirt, front airdam and grill design are identical. The only difference is the cooling ducts on the hood.
This opens up an interesting point about the intercooler. Since it is still in the front, could there be a secondary system on the top of the engine...

The hood vent is just there to cool the engine compartment.
That silver Evo 8 has the scoop on the side of the hood but the yellow one does not.
For some reason that silver Evo 8 pic doesn't look as good as the yellow one. The whole front looks shorter and thinner

That magazine picture may just be another photochop.
Also, there may be scoop on the side of the yellow evo's hood. We just can't see it from the angle of the picture.
Thanks for the pic shaft73!

Something is up with that pic. It looks too much like a photochopped 7 to me too. Also, look how small the front door is. And the fact that it has the side hood scoop is even more evidence that it is a picture of a 7 when we know the 8 lacks the scoop. True, we can't really see if the yellow pic has the scoop, but I remember someone who was at the Vegas show saying it was not on the 8.

strange, it does seem like its a photoshopped vii...and the thing is why would mitsu use the same rims...is not like the evo has a long heritage or somethign since the 40's w/ the signature "blah blah blah" rims
