removing exhaust manifold studs

I am currently installing my map o2 dump and I need to remove the 2 front studs of the exhaust manifold that connect the exhaust manifold to the stock o2 housing.I got the stud to come out a little bit but I don't have much room to work with (using a wrench) anyone have any tips?

I don't recall any studs going between the mani and 02 dump..?

mani -> turbo -> o2 housing

I pulled my turbo out to instal the new o2 housing. Pretty easy just don't round your nuts

They are the 2 studs on the stock o2 housing closest to the radiator... so they are the studs connecting the manifold to the o2 housing

Its the o2 housing to the turbine not the manifold dude, use lots of Pb blaster. I was able to do it with a ratchet and short socket and the nut on the bottom closest to the block with a wrench from underneath.

^^ Yea let that sh** sit overnite to. Honestly I may have done it the harder way but it seemed easier then gettin my big a** hands in those areas but I just pulled the entire turbo out with the o2 housing connected. Then unbolted it from there.

Lol, I think he means the exhaust housing on the turbo. +2 on the PB Blaster overnight. Breaking off a bolt/ or stud will add more wrench time considerably.

If you choose not to pull the whole turbo with the exhaust manifold, you can also drop the radiator to get more clearance.

Pull the turbo, it's difficult to tighten the bolts on the back of it next to the block

Definitely easier to do the job with the turbo and dump pipe removed in 1 piece first.
