Do dealers generally stock evo 8 parts?

My water pump started leaking bad today and I need to replace it. Do mitsu dealers generally stock water pumps for evo 8s or is that a special order part? Seems like auto zone / pep boys etc don't really deal with these cars. Any other place I can get it fast? I'm in the chicago area. Thanks/

maybe

i worked parts at the mitsu dealer in monee for a summer job this summer. they dont really carry evo parts in stock, mostly parts for the more common mitsu cars. they can usually get parts in with in two days tho. the parts truck comes every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday call south suburban mitsubishi in monee and ask for parts and ask for Tim or Javier they run that parts department

tell them jon told you about them

Cool thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Do you know of any aftermarket pumps I may be able to get same day? I'm trying to avoid renting a car if at all possible...

I just called today for (what I think) is pretty basic exhaust stuff, bolts and gaskets and NONE of them are in stock. Special order only. Pretty nonsense if you ask me.

It's a specialized part; it's ridiculous to assume that dealerships (or stores even) will stock a specialized part for an uncommon car that's more than 7 years old

What tires me is that, "It will be 5 to 7 days" story you always get from the dealership when they can usually have anything you need within 24 hours if you insist.
