Used head studs?

I recently bought an fp red and I am in the market for headstuds. I'm just looking at the ARP headstuds not the L19. My question is whether it will be alright to buy these used.i will be doing the 1x1 method and not removing the head

thats a big no no! headbolts stretch (TTY) get a new set. if you put a used set they will not tighten the way they should.

This is just my personal opinion, but I wouldn't buy something like that used. Why not just spend the little bit of extra money and get the brand new ones that you know are 100% fresh?

1x1 is how boostin performance did mine.and they said they did like 40 evos that way.2 years no problem yet.since arp studs are cheap($100) I'd buy new ones.

Head bolts stretch yes but the op was talking about head studs. They don't stretch, they have a set torque. I've read somewhere that you can buy them used as long as the treads are clean and you torque them correctly.but honestly I would buy them new since they aren't that much

As stated you "can" reuse head studs they are not TTY like head bolts and can be reused ARP will tell you the same. Now would "I" ever reuse head studs no not likely.

As for the 1x1 it has been beaten to death on here over the years. Some have gotten away with it sure....Shops telling you they'll do them that way cause they are trying to save you money likely.

Me personally, head off new gasket, no question.

I would not buy used head studs, but I would reuse my own. As long as you did not over stretch them you are good to go.

I am running the ARP 625+ head studs.

I've reused my ARP custom age 625's like 3 or 4 times swapping heads around and make 40+ lbs of boost with a 6466 every time I drive it and never had a problem holding a gasket, but their also almost a 400 dollar set of studs.

Not flaming on used headstuds . I'm sure they're great if they're quality ones. I'm just that way with parts that are already low in price. But again that's me

I'm just looking for something while I'm stock block, once it pops and I do a build I will put the best into it but for right now I don't see the Sense in getting top of the line, I guess I'll just buy some arp studs for like 120

new head studs are just a piece of mind. Why risk it trying to save $100?
