If it is a 2006 model year it will be in the showroom by mid 2005.

That's only if Mitsu fixes the biggest mistake with the Evolution line and that is giving the model designation the same year as all the rest of their line and every other manufacturer. Still selling 2003 Evos in March of 2004 certainly has every other manufacturer and marketer laughing their butts off. AS they do with each market, they can sell the same car in Japan as a 2003 Evo in March but around here to be in contention for awards and not seen as an "old" car, they need to simply designate them as 2005s in about 3 months... and bring the MR over..

Mister2zx2, I totally agree I think later this year they should just skip the 9 and 10 and just bring over the 11, cause that's the one we're all waiting for anyways right? Rofl Mister2zx3, this car isn't like every other car, just let Mitsu do what they're doing ;x and hope we keep getting em over here.

If they keep doing what they are doing though, it won't last... But hey.. For cars sales, you need the average guy.. The WRX won so many awards and accolades, the avergae guy was overwhelmed with WRX information. Those awards are what made it a success. Do you know how many people who think themselves "into" cars don't even know what the Evo is? But hey I'm sure mitsu is happy (as We should just go about beign always happy and never improving.. hrmm what that's contrary to evolution.. oh well... ) just selling a couple cars at a loss here.. That will keep them interested in selling them here.. Not selling enough cars is a great strategy..

Whats the difference if it looks like a Ralliart, the Evo is about performance and not looks right? Hey, if it looks alot like the Ralliart you have even more of a sleeper on your hands.

I just find it funny how when the VIII was released, people were cursing Mitsu and saying how ugly it was compared to the VII, etc. Yet most of them bought it. Now a new design change, and more complaints. Its not like it was a monumental change to the car. Were talking a front fascia and headlights. Im sure the car will look fine in person, much like the Ralliart. (People denounced the Ralliart when the press photos were released, but many people came around after seeing it in person...)
i have to agree with this guy, people are overly to critical, isnt this car coined LANCER evo? its got its name from somewhere and its based of that, im not to surprised that this looks very reminiscent of the current lancer. and reports have been stated even before this sketch that it will resemble the current lancer trim for the next evolution. look at the new Lancer WRC, it bears no resemblence to your fabled EVO VIII, and people still cry and whine about it, i can tell you this everything that needs to be known has probably already in front of us. i dont doubt that the new evo will take this fashion, if it does, i'll just have to get used to it or have a great time finding me the earlier renditions of the Evolution, as time permits , ill buy myself an Lan-EVOiX for the track, of course ill still have my beast of an Impreza

Chill out people, and take whats given to you, i swear sometimes i wish the Japanese super cars were never released to the American abroad, cause we get to many bickering from all these spoiled people.....

Has anyone heard about the wrc lancer getting changed to another model in the near future? I read an pic off the 2004 Geneva Auto Show with the description the Mitsu wants to go with a smaller model thatn the current lancer design.

It looks quite good, actually, except for the 1 thing i hated in the 8.. the front MMC grill extension where the logo sits... but i still love the looks of my 7 (aggressive stance)... no offence to 8 owners... just preference.. however, some of the 8s after market front bumpers looks quite good too...

bc evo 1, mitsu will be most likely building a new WRC car off the COLT platform. Smaller, better handling, and should do really well with th 4g63 in it.

that car is horrible!! its way too happy looking, the evo is suppossed to be a rally monster, not a happy go lucky sedan, it looks like a basterdized civic in the back and a silly lancerart in the front

oh and i agree the evo 8 nose is a little silly, i like the gialla body kit, with the carbon fiber hood and the emblem set back under the hood, .....or removed altogether, yeah i like that even better

Looking a little more Civicish than I'd like... like others, I too, liked the 7 more than the 8. These drawings don't look much different than the 8, leaving the parts I didn't care for untouched. I would like to see a different front grille, dump the altezza tails, and I hope they don't go with the Civic/Focus-shaped headlights. Maybe MT has it wrong.

It doesn't really matter that much though... there's sure to be aftermarket options to change the cosmetic apsects that you aren't happy with. And as long as it performs better, I care even less

The 7 owns all man, there's no word about it.

7 Looked more clean
7 Looked more aggressive
7 Looked more distinct
7 Looked more professional
7 Had somewhat of a better interior
7 Was just the best, you can't beat it.

I think they should do a resurrection 7 edition, that would be amazing. I wouldn't give if it was illegal in Canada, I would sell most of my stuff just to have one in my garage, It's obsessive yea, but, damn its just the 100% Perfect car in my eyes, and probably others, too!
