To sell or not to sell

I am in a situation that Im not a 100% sure on what to do. I currently have a 04 ww rs with 63xxx miles on it. The transmission is done and needs to be replaced. I am debating on selling it and going with a stock or close to it X. It will be my dd and would like power options that the RS does not have. I obviously going to be taking a huge loss on the car if I sell it as is being broke and it is a rebuilt title( front bumper was the only thing damaged). I bought the car from Shaun at AWDmotorsports in Florida back in june 2012. the car has little to no rust since it came from FL and only has seen snow maybe 3-4 times under my watch.

Edit: Also front pads and driver wheel hub needs to be replaced.

Id like to here what some of you would do in this situation especially the ones that have an 8/9 and a X. Also what would be a fair asking price for my rs.

Mods

EF3 w/ported hotside and 3 inch anti surge.
Ported head with upgraded springs ti retainers, supertech +1mm valves
S3s (so I have been told. I got with the head there is no markings but they are more aggressive than the HKS 280s I had)
Injen upper and lower ic piping with synchronic bov recirc.
FIC 1100 high z
255 walbro
Aem wideband
Aem boost gauge
Aem oil temp
JDM tails(may have a buyer for them)
exhaust is unknown looks like hks titanium but no markings could be knock off.

e85 ~440/380
93 ~400/360

VD dynojet numbers

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks!

Rebuilt title is going to destroy u. That right there is going to limit it under 12k then u have the bad trans and other stuff.

Keep it, fix it. You will have to spend a lot more money on engine mods to get a stock car up to par with your 8.

Yea, I would keep it and fix it up. Keep it as a project car and get a cheap DD. That rebuilt title is not going to get you what you deserve regardless of what's done to it..

If you do plan on getting rid of it, don't expect to get much man.. You could always part it out. That'll be the best way to make the most.

I totally agree with you about not getting much. I understand that mods don't up value at all but I feel like it just needs a new home for someone that does track events or drag. I'd love to get into all that but it's just not the time for me. That's why Im debating on selling now because if I wait any longer the value is just going to drop. I bought it with the rebuilt title oops.

Sounds like a headache for a new buyer honestly man. People are going to see that and shy away unless you go real low.. I've seen nice r titles go for $13k with no problems.

Depending on the state that a buyer is from it may be a hassle for them to transfer the title, and/or get insurance on it. I know it's a pain in the butt in Ga if you don't have a clean title. Good luck what ever you do.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I reached out to a couple people that were looking for blown up or salvaged evos. I found a couple stock x that I do like. I don't plan on making crazy power anymore so it maybe best to get the x.

Yeah, rebuilt title is killer.

If you can't afford to keep it. I would say sell for $10 as is. so you loose the $2K difference, but at least you wouldn't pay to have it fixed up and potentially break something else.

I see too many in my area where the guy barely has enough to get it modded, then his engine blows. There are at least 5 evo's I know that have been sitting for months.....

This is what I am leaning towards. I know I asked for advise and everyone else says fix it but its one thing after another I Just replaced the T case then now its the trans. So I am going to post it for sale and see what offers I get. Its hard to work on the car because I live at an apartment. It has a garage but they HATE us working on cars.
