suitable street cams

Hi there. Looking for advice on cams for 4g63t. I currently have kelford 264s and would like to go to 272 or 280. Just want some advice on doing that if it is still usable as a street car. Also if I increase the cam degree do I need to port, polish the head.

I would go s2's and you don't need to port polish the heads just upgrade the springs

I have Kelford 264/260, I love where the Powerband is at right not. If you are willing to move the powerband over to the right a little, then go for it. Don't forget your spring and retainers!!!

I am not familiar with s2's. Can some one explain for me. I am based in New Zealand so our part availability may vary. Have already done springs and retainers

I have S3's in my car and I drive the hell out of it. It deff made a huge difference in the whole power band but obviously more up top. I wouldn't consider them in any way, shape, or form "unstreetable".

S1, S2, S3, R2 Cams are all GSC Cams which are very nice. I also listed them from the least aggressive to the most aggressive.

I have revolver 262/264 and they're awesome. Mean as hell but I don't want to kill myself driving everyday!

if you want a cam that will make you power and is a 272, but isnt to lopey or moves your power band to high. id get the HKS 272s or the BC 272s, there fairly mild for a 272... i have the GSC s2's they will make more power than the other two i listed. but they also have a nasty lope

What kind of turbo do you have and what kind of "street" driving are you going to be doing?

I just tuned a guy in Australia using GSC R2's with a FP Black. He does mountain passes and loves the R2's. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ireescape.html

I personally use the S2's and will be getting the R2's or S3's. My customers who have the bigger cams only notice a lope as the biggest change in normal street driving. Some of it can be tuned out, but I can still hear mine, which I like.

I sell GSC cams and springs with retainers, so let me know if I can get a price for you.

Since you have a evo 5 and you're in new zealand, either get the HKS 272 as they are easy to find and you wont have to do spring and retainers. or get kelford 272's as they are a New zealand company and there car is great also very aggressive. are you using the stock evo 5 turbo?
