Help! Evo idles really bad and stalls when coming to a stop/reverse? ideas/fixes?

Help! Evo idles really bad and stalls when coming to a stop/reverse? ideas/fixes?
Hello,

My brother just replaced lifters, timing belt and licp/uicp last night. His car is suddenly idling bad when he comes to a stop and tries to go in reverse. Any ideas?

Insure that all hose didnt pop off first.

Check piping first, make sure there are no air leaks.

Calling him now to have him check piping and hoses. I thought it could be piping but they he just put T-Bolt clamps on all of them.

Hes not picking up phone but how would you check the timing? I bought him a tactrix cable but he doesn't have Evoscan yet

A boost leak test would be a good idea as well if you have not already done one. Hooking up a timing light or rotating by hand and checking the marks is the best way to the check timing.
