High HP timing belt

well im at around 650 hp and recently had my cam gear adjustment bolts back out on me and fell into the gears or something causing my gates belt to rip. Car only has less than 5k on it since build.

any particular timing belt is better to go with than others or another gates would be just fine?.. what do you HIGH hp evos run???

Use loctite on your cam gear bolts next time. It's not the belts fault foreign material got into it... a gates belt is probably just fine.

Don't blame the belt because the engine wasn't assembled correctly to handle the power output

I use the evo IX belt as it is kevlar reinforced as well... I have heard the gates belts are a tad waider than OEM can can rub the crank reluctor and cause a nasty whine... I want no part of that!

the motor was assembled about 2 years ago and ran fine but a recent mount viberation issue caused most of my bolts to either back out or break loose. i tried to go after all the ones that i could, but i guess i missed those. I was considering the gates belt again but i just wanted input of those evos with high hp, to see what they ran or if they ever experienced any issues with a certain brand
