I'm on my second set of V12. Why? Because I like to be fast from April to November, and I love driving in the rain. Had I opted for, say, Z1 my car would be fast from May to September, and crawl the rest of the time. Well, hey, I could claim to have a better tire on the Internet. The V12 also weigh considerably less. It's rotational mass at its most crucial spot. But, what do I know?

may i ask how they are safer?
in regards to Hankook v12s, they are my favorite daily tire. only the Nitto 555 has lasted as long and had grip in all weather conditions. they are well made and work very decent, IMO.

Well i am not trying to be a wize guy. Safer means shorter braking distance and stopping power in rain and heat . I felt unsafe in my Evo during rain on stock Brembo rotors as braking felt as more to be desired and same goes for extreme heat , same brembos warped at 2 k due to emergency braking at 100mph on a hghwy not what i would expect from Brembo .... So I moved on to DBA rotors. And felt real difference - i am happy . Otherwise peope can put whatever rotors they want depending in their driving style and conditions

i was just curious. I'd be willing to bet your old rotors only had pad transfer and were fine.
i've never heard of anyone feeling unsafe with solid rotors, so i was legitimately curious. Be careful for rotors that have the holes drilled after casting as opposed to molded in.

Bought my IX SSL with 120k miles, great service records 2 previous owners for $17k
From what I can tell in the area im located (Killeen TX) My cars worth around 23k.
Evo 9's are just skyrocking in price. Its all about demand.

When I worked in insurance as an agent (I'm an underwriter now), I thought about it. I had quoted myself with a similar carrier (AMIG), but it didn't make sense to me with it being my daily driver, since they usually require you to have another policy for your more frequently driven vehicles (assuming Hagerty has similar guidelines), so I'd have to insure the same car twice.

I was hoping you'd chime in. As I understand, a firm like Hagerty allows unlimited mileage, but does not allow the car to be driven to and from work. I can see how this wouldn't work for some owners. In my case, this doesn't really apply. As such, would you suggest looking at a specialty insurer?
But yes, you can choose unlimited mileage but it just can't be your DD, which would make it ineligible for that program.
I know that Safeco has a program where you insure collectors cars as such while keeping it on the same policy as your regular cars (I have Safeco, used to sell it and was at one of their seminars in Tahoe during my last month as an agent), though I think it's not quite as cheap, but I'd put money on their claims process being better.
I have AAA insurance and if I feel they are paying me less than the car is worth they allow me to show them examples of what the car is selling for and will take that into consideration. Not too bad.
All this talk makes me want to quit beating on my Evo and buy an VIII to use as a track ***** LOL

i am selling my 2006 evo iX, SSL package with 58k miles on it and garage kept and i am the second owner with a clean carfax and a professionally built engine. well taken care of and not beat on or riced out. i am asking $21,000 for it. Serious inquiries only as i have had alot of people low ball me or flake and waste my time. I do not have to sell it but i am looking to buy a house and i could use the extra money on a down payment. My car is worth every penny and more than what i am asking. Thanks

Depending on the work performed sounds like you priced it to move. The poster above got a car with double the miless for only 4k less then yours. I'd ask 25 with those miles and let someone walk me back a few grand personally.
bravo on keeping the miles low.
