Supply and demand is right. I paid $23.5k for my '06 RR RS with 39k on the clock. It's at 61k now, I've put $10k into it, and I think I could get $24-25k for it. When it had 55k miles, I turned down an offer for $26k. No matter what anyone says, you will never get more car for the money.

But at the end it's good that our cars keep the value.for example if you turn into douchebag one day and want 335 you can always make straight trade.

The thing about the Evo is that it's a four door with trunk and AWD so if someone can't get the price they want you can still live with car. A two seat sports car may have to be unloaded if a baby is on the way for example. I have a child seat in my Evo and the trunk is bigger than some SUVs.

$12k in 1989 is about $29k on today's money. Sounds about right for a 10-best.

People still pay $20K for 100,000+ miles here in my state. How Dealerships make up some money on these cars for profit is absurd.

But at the end of the day if you spend the money, whether reasonable or not and you thoroughly enjoy the car, it's always worth it.

This is a good subject. The banks will not lend $20k plus for an 8 year old car. I had this issue last year. My bank would only give me $12 for an 06 Evo. My brother had the same issue. An older higher priced car is no value to the lender if the loan is defaulted on. The majority of the people will have to get a loan to purchase a car. The Evo isn't rare or special. Trade it in and it's only worth have of what most people are trying to get for them.

And to prove it isn't a sellers market. Look at the dates on the ads of the Evo's for sale. I saw an Evo here that was for sale in 2012 and now it's for sale again. Some of these ads date back a couple years.

I took a lose on my car and so did my brother. He ended up returning his car to stock except the built motor and selling the parts. I didn't have time or space so I let my car go for the used car value.

Most banks will do up to 125% NADA value. A 2006 with 60K is $19900 so they will loan up to $24,500 if you have good credit. But that is just one example, the older ones don't hold value as well.

A 2003 with 100K is $12,400 so they will loan to $15,500. Most 03-04's here sell for 15-18000 beat to **** and tons of problems. People think they are gold. Stock 06' usually get 20-22 with 50-70K.

My bank in NY and my brothers credit union in CT were both on the same page. My bank was willing to give me a loan for the full amount on a 2013 and new 2014 Evo X. 125% of the NADA value is on select cars.
