Evo IX used car pricing: Thousands over book value
PS. Hey, Smurf!
You're right. There are some good cars left, but the number is far outweighed by busted-up, poorly done modification projects. One just has to come to terms with waiting for the right car to come along. Not something I enjoy saying.
I am the single owner of a stock 2006 RS with 33K miles. The only thing I've done to it is add a stereo (listened to the engine music for a few months first, though
).
I like the idea that my car has held its value but even if I wanted to sell it (which I don't), I haven't seen a car that I would want that is anywhere near the price and that would still give me the same feeling as this one. At this point, I could see keeping it for another 10+ years.

I had a RS. Loved it! Sometimes I wish I'd bought another, instead of the SE, and then I remember its headlights and my aging eyes, and vividly recall why I opted for a different model. FWIW, my SE has ~35K miles on its clock and it's most certainly not for sale. I bought it to keep.
I bought an GG IX for $18,800 with 55k miles in May 2014 from a private party. It had some minor bolt ons and was in awesome running condition. However, it was filthy because it wasn't cleaned in 2 years and had a damaged rear bumper as well as a door that needed replacing. I think I got a great price and don't regret the purchase a single bit.
2 deals fell through for me and I'm just about ready to say screw it and buy a all wheel drive TL and call it a day. people trying to get top dollar for junk cars. must be out there minds! i wasn't born yesterday, I'm almost 40.
sh. you're making the rest of us 40yr olds look bad. i highly recommend you go buy that TL. stick with Hondas.
took my 2006 IX MR to South Coast Mitsubishi today for oil change, they offered me $20,000 for the car to sell to them, i refused since I figuring its worth waay more than that. I wonder how much they would have put it up for to sell after buying from me
