evo 8 boggs and dies when radiator fan kicks on.
hey so my car boggs and usually dies only when radiator fan kicks on after driving (so usually at stoplights) im guessing my battery is toast and that when it kicks on I don't have enough juice to support it so everything else goes with it "fuel pump ect" or something like that ha.. just want some opinions.. I have cams and 1000cc injectors blah blah blah if that helps someone. my car has so far been quite annoying in the electrical aspect of things... im running halogens to btw just put them in cause hids were causing other issues... anyways I could use some help.

Having the same problem I replaced the battery helped a lot cause my battery was bad. but found out after some testing that I had a bad fan control module. Causing it to pull to much amperage when the fan turns on. Would happen when lights where on and radio on, wipers and a/c on. I had a bad voltage drop also. Would go from 14v toaround 11v, I still need to check my a/c clutch to see if I need to shim it
Yea as stated about could be related to the fan drawing too much voltage. However once the car is started and running the battery's only job is to regulate the vehicles voltage and charge the battery for the next start up. The alternator does all the work to operate your electrical systems while the engine is running. There are adjustments you can make in your tune to help with this too. You could up your desired idle, isv tables. etc
so had the battery and alternator tested and alternator was good but the battery was bad Ill make sure to get a new one and I will definitely keep what was said about the fan module in my thoughts just in case...
as for the idle it idles at like 1200 gotta keep those cams turnin lol.. ill definitely get a tune here pretty soon though ..English racing did it a while ago but I think I could use a re tune...
do you think getting a battery with higher amperage would help?

Looks like your idle is plenty high thats good. I have an optima yellow top battery and it is great. Even when i store the car for months at a time i don't even disconnect it and it fires right up. Have had it for 3 years and wouldn't go with any other. It is on the pricey side. Also my battery is in the trunk so you would have to make sure you can source one that fits under the hood. A battery with higher CCA is always better.

yea those optimas are like $220!!!! that's so much the standard like 160 cca superstart goes for about $120 ill look around see if I can get something in the 170 cca area for under $200..
my evo has been a little on the annoying side so far ive owned it for about 2 months I bought it from a dealer and have put about $1600 in maintance/little bs so far... I almost got it all squared away though and I can wait I just want it to be perfect with no issues haha.. anyways off subject
