P0234 turbocharger overboost
Alright here we go. I have a '03 GSR 133K mods ( they don't really count ) because I don't have any that truly make the car faster, i.e fuel pump more boost etc..
3" full buscher racing exhaust 3" front mount, injen piping and intake.
So this the story. I never really get on my car much it is a daily and well id like it to last a long time. I decided to go no the highway with one of my brothers and I did some pulls just to see how his Camaro did. I was in fourth gear on the pull and all of a sudden [bam] like a intercooler piping blew off but not as loud. Did it a few more times same thing. Scanned it and I got the P0234 turbocharger overboost, I looked at all the hoses and didn't see any disconnected. I run 1.5 bar of boost and it tappers off to like 1.2 bar at WOT - anyhow I was just curious where to look. it is 17 degree here in Michigan right now.
Cheers

I had to replace my OEM Wastegate actuator. It went bad and the car started over boosting as a result. I would check into that. Also is it the factory boost control?

Sounds like you hit fuel cut. The colder temps and the higher gears the higher the boost. I have thrown that code before. You should clear it and lower your boost just a little bit until it warms up. I also doubt your car would have done this in a lower gear. I make about 1 psi more in each gear as i go up. This is when boost by gear becomes nice to have.
