Question Super Noob Question About 2003 Models

OK, so the 8 was officially released in the US in 2003. For USDM, from what I've been reading, there were no other model variances for that year. So would an owner of a USDM Evo 8 (like me) have an Evo RS by association of the other versions from the proceeding years? Or is it just an 8 without any other designation?

Right, but none of those are designated by an MR/GSR/RS/etc..

From what I can tell, I've got a big wing and no sunroof but it doesn't really make the model different than those with a sunroof and a small wing.

03 came plain 8's technically it's a GSR cuz they only came with everything electric. So it's either GSR or SSL, 04 is when they added the RS model

GSR didn't make it to the USA until the Evo X.

03 is just a standard Evo, 04 has the standard, SSL, and RS, 05 has the standard, RS, SSL, and MR, and 06 has the standard, RS, MR, SSL, and the SE.

Except, I have an '04 SSL. Nice synopsis, none the less.
