Would have just paid a shop to fab up some more side impact beams if you were really that worried.

If you ever take your door panels off to install new speakers, you'll see how much side impact protection there is. Pretty much none.

With a baby on the way, that started to worry me.
I understand that concern. To reduce the potential for injury I put the baby seat in the middle and not next to the door.

Last I heard, that Evo was stolen from the dealership. Could be just a rumor spurred up here in Chi tho.

Part of the concern was for me and my wife too, there's only so many middle seats to go around.

As Grimgrak mentioned, I could have had a shop fab some side impact beams, but I did not know about that back then.

Oh well.

Worst decision ever! lol Fail on your part dude.

An Evo IX GSR SE is about as rare as they get and still fetch a premium. Personally I would've kept the evo and just got a Camry or anothe safe family sedan. An S4 was a horendous choice, they are riddled with issues and are about as numb to drive as a camry as well.

Sure you can always buy and find another IX SE but It will NEVER be the one you purchased brand new and know it's full history from the day you signed the contract of purchase and the day you drove it off the lot. Personally those are the things i remember vividly well after purchasing my Evo.

I have two kids as well and went ahead and purchased a Camry and Sienna. Selling the Evo never entered my mind.
