its clutch time

So, my old, slipping centerforce clutch is done. Im looking at the competition clutches. Im planning a turbo build this coming tax season so i need something to hold the power. Im thinking of a stage 4 from competition. I dont launch my car at all nor do i REALLY daily drive it. Would this be a suitable clutch for my needs and have longevity especially if i dont abuse the car?

what he said. A stage III anything should do you solid unless you're really getting up there in power. A Spec Stage III will hold 525tq and a III+ 595tq, just as an example. http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Mitsu...IX/2003/Single

I just can't afford those EXPENSSIVE clutches(exedy/QM) especially considering I have to pay for the labor. It's kind of sad it seems like you have to spend over 1k to get a decent clutch

Not true. A Spec Stage III is under $700. I've used them before and had no issues.

Maybe a little clutch history is what needed. How long did the stock clutch last, how long did the centerforce last? Terms like longevity, and no abuse are relative so they mean different things to diff people. What turbo are you looking at? ACT makes a good clutch as well-- again good is relative but its in your price range and if your not pounding on the car could be an option depending on answers above., Good Luck.

I wont buy ACT. Ive heard far too many negative reviews. I have no idea about stock clutch or the centerforce as i bought the car used and i havent driven it much at all in nearing my one year of ownership. Im doing a build on it(suspension/wheels/brakes/engine/cosmetic etc etc) so just looking for a solid street clutch to hold power.

I just bought and installed the os giken str2c. I need to write a review. But for now ill just tell you this. Clutch is absolutley amazing. I hate random noises. So much so i wrapped every dash clip and door screw eith teflon tape and also dynomatted inside all my doors.
This clutch is about 95% silent. Of you depress the clutch and listen u can hear its a twin. But hardly. The guy at the track i raced hsd the exedy twin and it sounds like a rock tumbler. Comes with the alteration kit. Pedal feel is lighter than stock. And it grabs like an animal. Most amazing feelimg clutch ive ever driven in any car ever hands down. I daily this car. All day everyday. People need to get off the old school twin dicks.
Some may complain about the 2k price.... But consider what your getting

2 clutchs
1 flywheel
And a 600 $ alteration kit that removes that wack *** wave clip. Pull to pudh conversion. And those loser felt washers.

Here's the thing with clutches: Everyone has preferences just like tires and oil brands and gas stations, etc. 20 different people are going to give 20 different answers. But answer these questions and we can probably help you narrow it down:

1) How much TQ do you anticipate making on the turbo upgrade?
2) What is your budget?
