car not starting

when I go to start my car it would take a couple pumps before it turns on... now I find myself cranking for a few minutes and sometimes no cranking just a hum.... could this be the ignition? starter?

Battery would be my guess.

get the battery tested first would be cheapest, might as well bring the starter also while you are at it.
