Hi guys
I recently had my car tuned and I'm not too happy with how the tuner set the cold start RPMS.
Firstly, the operating temp idle is now at 1,100rpm… which is fine.. it sounds so much better than the 900rpm OEM idle.
However, i never recalled how high the OEM cold idle was set at?
(something like 1,800+rpm?)
How the tuner set it, I'm not sure...the car sounds lazy on cold start and immediately after cranking climbs to about 1,400rpm… and slowly falls down to 1,100rpm.
i hadn't started the car for two weeks and it took 2 cranks and it a loud 'P O P!!!!!!!!!!!!' and then climbed to 1,400rpm..
I seriously miss the way it used to crank and sounds insane at 1,800+rpm and then you hear the automatic choke drop.
So does anyone know what cold idle from OEM is set as?
I'm thinking of going back to the tuner and instruct him to set the cold idle how it was.

1.) that thread did not help at all. There was no rock-solid answers. It relates to the OP having issues with his tuning. Which is different to my question.
2,) Why should i be posting it to ECU flash… I'm not concerned with whats ECU flashes are set to.… i was asking for OEM non molestered RPM… so it is classified as 'General'.

Ecuflash is the program used to tune evo's. The people that know anything about the tables and their settings would be there. Its clear you are pretty ignorant of the tuning process which is maybe why you are having trouble finding your answer. I would suggest downloading Merlins Evo tuning guide (search for it) and do some reading and educate yourself. Other then that you should talk to your tuner and have him adjust it to your liking.

well obviously i am going to do that aren't i?!… to my liking… i already mentioned that i prefer how it was OEM…. and thats all i was asking for.
not everyone needs, wants to, has the time or interested to read a book of tuning if there are after one simple 4 digit number when someone can just simply answer that question.
well if you did any research at all you would know that it isnt just one four digit number but several different tables that control ISCV initial position , iscv decay etc that all play into what your idle will be when you first start the car. If you arent interested in learning about this stuff then i really dont see the point of you making this thread. A simple email/call to your tuner was all that was really necessary. I understand you don't know what you don't know, but a certain level of humility is called for when asking people for help, and your post #3 where you basically second guess peoples advice seems arrogant.

You spent half your first post describing how your car behaves when you first start it cold, and how you want it. The tables i described have everything to do with controlling that behavior. It seems like the one being narrow minded here is you, declaring you are not interested in learning and dismissing what people are advising you to do. How am i acting like a bigot? Do you even know what that word means?
