Servicing Evo 8 FQ300, what oil should I use?

Hey guys.

Evo 8 FQ300 GSR, done 82,000kms.

Any suggestions as to what oil I should use?

Previous owner who did the last service at like 75,000ks used Penrite 5w 30 fully synthetic, would it be best to continue using that?

What oil filter should I go for, OEM or a greddy/hks one?

Also what is the engine oil capacity?

The recommended oil on the site doesn't seem right it was like 10w50.

Brands don't matter, use what the manufacturer recommends

In the states it's usually 10w30. In NZ i'm not sure. Capacity is 4.7 quarts.

There's also a sticky comparing the oil filters, i believe the result was amsoil being the best.

I use factory filters and factory fill (M1). The motor is warranted for 100,000m, as tested with these same components. Why improvise? Oh, I see, a 19 year old who barely graduated from high school must know better.

I recently read an article on oil, and the people saying use the manufacturers recommended oil are right.... On a standard car... Once you up the power you are upping the temperatures and forces involved and are asking more of the oil. If you car is standard then stick with the manufacturers spec oil by all means, if you've modified the car then you're going to want extra protection. I'm no oil expert so can't say this is definitely true, but it made sense to me

It lasted 75,000km on pennrite and the engine still seemed well enough for you to purchase the vehicle like that so why switch? Dont fix what aint broke. Unless you have a specific reason for not using it, seems like that oil has been working out pretty well.
