problem with windshield wipers

for some reason my wipers turned on by themselves the other day. I was like ok maybe it was a temporary glitch. This morning I turn the car on and 5 mintues later my wipers go on again only this this time they won't shut off. I stopped the car turn off the ignition and restarted the car once again. Well, to my amazement the wipers turn on again and they won't turn off. I'm thinking it might be the sensor or faulty wiring. Has anyone had this problem?

If the evo has rain sensing wipers (I don't know if it does), then it might be a faulty wiring problem. I'm pretty sure there isn't any wiper sensor, so....yeah, your on your own .

With such a reproduceable problem, I'm betting there's a wiring short somewhere not too difficult to find. Can you adjust the speed at all or does it completely ignore the wiper arm? Just tracing from the wiring in the stearing wheel for the wiper control wires will probably lead to something looking out of place...

Aside from that, no reason the dealership can't troubleshoot it. I'd suggest you specifically ask them what they fix though. Otherwise, I can believe that they'll say they fixed when in fact, they really just moved wires around enough that it didn't short anymore.
