I'm in search of an MR shifter console and am offering my 5spd one up for trade. I've already did some research and it does work with some light modification on my end. As for the GSR shifter console in the MR, if you have the 5spd conversion it will work.

well the question still remains for people with the mr console and a 5 speed trans
what do you do if you want a proper fitting shift boot? because the 6 speed shift boot leaves a large gap because theirs no reverse lock out.

what I'd do is match a DIY for removing both and see of the screws are in the same place and everything is similar. From what I'm seeing though it looks like the MR boot is wrapped in a wider diameter around the console.

May have to get a 5 speed console top.

I believe you need the 5 speed console. I just live with the gap, I prefer the MR console.
